About Us

Gordon is a friendly, accepting congregation blessed with members diverse in background. We have a lot of people doing a lot of different things to keep our church running. Here are a few examples (this section is under construction):

UCW - United Church Women - A women's social group that raises money for the church and church outreach groups.

In addition, there are a number of opportunities for growing and learning

Lectionary Study - a group that gets together on Mondays at 1PM in the church lounge to discuss the week's Bible readings

Yoga - Help your body and mind to be healthier. Yoga meets on Wednesdays at 10AM in the church hall.

Meditation Group - This group is doing a book club type format. Reading a particular book and meditating about the learnings within it. It meets at the home of Gordon and Agnes Craig on Thursdays at 7:30. Call for directions.

Our spiritual head is an elected Moderator, a position held by a man or a woman. Decisions are made with much consultation among a broad base of representatives—women, men, children, and young people—from all regions of Canada.

Sometimes we disagree with one another, but we seek to do so with respect. The struggle has led us to pay particular attention to those who are often overlooked: poor people, women and children, and people of diverse races, cultures, and sexual orientations.
